The Separation Wall snakes in and around Palestinian localities in Jerusalem and its environs, dividing them from the city and from one another. Whether surrounded, excised, enclaved, ghettoized, or pinned against the mountains, the wall ensures that the Palestinian communal fabric that for centuries has enriched and been enriched by Jerusalem is no longer able to connect to it and has no real horizon beyond atrophy and isolation.
