Taqwa

An Arabic term commonly translated as “God-fearingness,” “piety,” or “awareness of God.” In Islamic thought, it refers to a person’s awareness of and responsibility toward God, often expressed through ethical behavior, religious observance, and avoidance of actions considered sinful.
